Here is some information about me, the FACES teacher.
I will teach FACES again for a eight time in the Fall semester 2020! COVID -19 special year!

I will also teach ACES for the third time in the Spring 2021. Wood Street Centre is going to be at PCSS for this school year.

I worked at FHC from 2002 to 2018, mainly teaching Sciences Naturelles  8-9-10 and Mathématiques 8-9 in the French immersion program; half time for 5 years.  I also taught social studies 8 once and social studies 10 through the FACES program.  I strongly believe in our French immersion program but even more so in experiential activities, field trips and programs.  For many years, I worked with the French Immersion educators team to organize the gr.8 Cultural Camp. This camp has grown from 18 students at it's early stage to about  50-60 students for few consecutive years now.  It is an excellent opportunity for each student to engage, to play, to learn about others and their educators in a complete French setting.

PASE 9 was already an outgoing program when I joined the FHC team and for many years, I kept telling students how I was impressed by their French skills when they were returning from that program after a semester.  I kept suggesting to ask for the gr.10 program in French until it became obvious that I needed to bring it to life myself.   In the Fall of 2012, the program FACES finally came to keep promoting the French language at the gr.10 level in an experiential environment where oral and written skills keep blossoming.

As a teacher, I find it very important to bring our school life into your house.  To promote that, I do my best to keep parents and students involved in our school life by updating this homework site daily as well as sending messages at home.  I suggest to talk about what we are learning in class, the conversation can happen in English even if class work is in French.  Science language is quite often similar in both languages.  If you child can explain an idea to you in his/her own words, the concept is mastered.

I wish you a great semester as a student and as a parent!
